About Us - DMV Lockdown Travel Basketball

DMV Lockdown Travel Basketball was founded from a passion for the game and a commitment to making competitive basketball accessible to young athletes in Woodbridge, VA. The passion for this nonprofit stems from the opportunities I was given as a child to participate in programs despite my family’s limited means. My goal is to pay it forward by creating similar opportunities for others in need. Led by Coach Desiree Roberts, who has over 5 years of experience coaching boys' basketball at both recreational and travel levels, we focus on affordable, skill-driven training and competitive play. Our supportive environment encourages players to grow on and off the court, with a dedicated coaching team committed to developing talent and sportsmanship. Each session is designed to challenge and inspire, ensuring players reach their full potential. Rooted in a philosophy of development, we emphasize learning through mistakes and continuous growth, which has led to several undefeated seasons. I have coached for several organizations, including BRYC, and I am now looking to establish my own nonprofit organization dedicated to nurturing and developing basketball players in my own community.
